Presentation; Noorddieker Noabers

The "Noorddieker Noabers" is called into life in 2005 as an neighbourhood association for the villagers of the village Noorddijk in the Dutch Province Groningen. It's a cohesive initiative from the villagers them self to stimulate social festivities and involving the community.

The initiative has grown over the years and the need for an official logo was great. As a villager myself they've asked me to make a contribution and create this logo. I found it a huge honour to create a logo for a place that I really appreciate.

On Friday 26 of March I presented the logo I've created for about 60 people at a community meeting. During my presentation I told about typical characteristics of cities (like the Table Mountain in Cape town) being used in logo's. I did this by the example of sitting in an air plane, Looking threw the small windows and searching for recognition points in the landscape. Every citizen/villager is proud of those unique characteristics. Even despite Noorddijk is a relative small village compared to Paris, Cape Town or Sydney. They do have their landmarks where they are very proud of.
